Its sophisticated optical design, consisting of 18 elements, three of which have an aspherical surface, divided into 13 groups, superbly compensates for distortion, aberrations, and chromatic aberrations. This results in brilliant image and video quality at any aperture and focal length. Its range of applications extends from architectural and interior photography to street photography, astrophotography, and landscape photography. The integrated metal lens hood prevents unwanted stray light and also protects the strongly curved front element. A special holder on the side of the bayonet mount allows the use of filters.
