As the first SL lens with a focal length of 14 mm and above, the Super-Vario-Elmarit-SL 1:2.8/14-24 ASPH. expands the SL system with a versatile and high-performance super wide-angle zoom lens. Its sophisticated optical design, consisting of 18 elements, three of which have an aspherical surface, divided into 13 groups, superbly compensates for distortion, aberrations, and chromatic aberrations. This results in brilliant image and video quality at every aperture and focal length. Its applications range from architectural and interior photography to street photography, astrophotography, and landscape photography. The integrated metal lens hood prevents unwanted stray light and also protects the highly curved front element. A special holder on the side of the bayonet mount allows the use of filters.
