Pentax 17

The PENTAX 17 captures images in half-frame format. This produces two 17mm x 24mm images in the original 35mm format (36mm x 24mm). When held normally, the images are captured in portrait orientation, which has the significant advantage that the images are delivered "smartphone-compatible" immediately after development and scanning, allowing for direct sharing within online communities. The PENTAX 17 features a newly developed 25mm f/3.5 prime lens (equivalent to a 37mm lens in 35mm format). The PENTAX 17 has a manual film advance mechanism based on those of PENTAX's SLR film cameras. The film advance lever allows users to easily advance the film and cock the shutter. A simple loading system has been designed to prevent errors when inserting the film.
