We are pleased to introduce the second generation of our professional full-frame zoom lens, the NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S II. This high-performance zoom lens has been completely redesigned and now features in-body zoom, faster autofocus, and a new optical design. It is now lighter, sharper, perfectly balanced, and even better suited for video.

It is the world's first professional 24-70mm full-frame lens with in-body zoom and weighs just 675 grams, making it the lightest lens in its class.1

The NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S II is designed to help you master challenging shooting situations. Compared to its renowned predecessor, the NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S, it is even easier to use and more robust.

Nikon's multi-focusing system and next-generation optical design offer tremendous advantages for photographers and videographers. It's the first Z-series zoom lens to feature Nikon's Silky Swift Voice Coil Motor: autofocus performance is 5 times faster² and 50% quieter, and focusing while zooming is 60% faster. The new S-line optical design utilizes the highest level of precision per element to achieve perfect correction with fewer lens elements.

An 11-blade rounded aperture produces exceptionally smooth bokeh. Nikon's powerful meso-amorphous coating and ARNEO coating reduce ghosting and flare, ensuring smooth shooting even in challenging lighting conditions. The consistent use of the multi-focusing system has significantly improved close-up performance: With the new NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S II, you can get closer to your subject thanks to shorter minimum focusing distances, an improved maximum magnification ratio, and the advantage of a non-extending lens barrel.

• Internal Zoom: The lens barrel does not extend and retract. The center of gravity remains constant, and shots remain precise.

• Video Enhancements: The internal zoom eliminates the need to rebalance the lens when using a gimbal, and heavy accessories are easier to handle. Focus breathing is also reduced for smoother transitions.

•The fastest autofocus yet: The first zoom lens with a multi-focusing system and Nikon's Silky Swift Voice Coil Motor (SSVCM). For faster, quieter, and more precise performance across the entire zoom range.

•Next-generation S-Line optics: Maximum image quality in a lighter lens. Featuring double-sided aspherical elements and ED glass, as well as meso-amorphic and ARNEO coatings to reduce ghosting and flare.

•Smoother, rounder bokeh: The rounded 11-blade aperture and advanced optics produce a more circular bokeh that is clearly defined and smoothly graduated.

•Extremely short minimum focusing distance: only 0.24m at 24mm and 0.33m at 70mm. Maximum magnification is 0.21x at 24mm and 0.32x at 70mm.

• Control ring with switchable click: “On” for tactile feedback during incremental adjustments. “Off” for smooth, silent, stepless operation.

• Focus limiter: Limits the focus range to 0.33 m across the entire zoom range for a constant working distance at all focal lengths.

• Any position: The internal zoom exposes fewer moving parts. The robust weather sealing keeps out dust, dirt, and moisture.

• New HB-117 lens hood: Round lens hood with a filter opening. This lens hood does not need to be removed when using rotating filters. This is convenient when using variable ND filters for video.
